Cranfield University in the UK is managing the DEXTER project. Cranfield is the UK’s leading postgraduate university and recognised as a world leader in aerospace engineering. Cranfield has strong links with industry and extensive experience on international collaboration projects. Cranfield’s project teams for DEXTER have extensive expertise in space systems and robotics, including a recent design collaboration with Airbus for the first demonstration of 3D metal printing in space on the ISS.

Magdrive, based in Harwell, Oxfordshire in the UK, is a spacecraft propulsion SME which has developed a novel type of electric propulsion system for small and large spacecraft which uses renewable metal propellant. Magdrive has conducted a number of successful research projects, including being invited to join the Horizon EIC Accelerator to develop core technology.

Its portfolio covers electromechanical components, GNC/AOCS, communications, astronomy, and optics. As coordinator in European interface standards, SENER developed SIROM (Standard Interface for Robotic Arm Manipulation), used in ESA projects such as MIRROR and ISAAC, and contributed to EC initiatives including EROSS and PERIOD.
